So at some point in Citrus!, we learn that dear Nate was around circa 1895, selling newspapers. It's quite the good thing, for several reasons, but in any case, I've ben wating to draw him like that for quite some time, because boys in suspenders are cute like that.
So last night, while chatting with my girlfriend, I was just generally playing with pencil and paper to keep that part of my mind occupied, and came up with the pose for this. And just kept running with it.
The look on his face desurved some speak. It really did.
Small bit of irony here. I wanted him in a newsboy cap, obviously, so I was looking about for pictures of how a newsboy cap looks while on a live head. Felt my hair coming out of my hat, reached up to readjust it and realised that I was wearing my newsboy cap. *Facepalm*
Nate is so frigging adorable. If I weren't him and in love with Lemon, I'd be in love with him. Or something.
Personally I like the long hair (not obsessed with hair, really! >.> Lemon, I want your hair! <.<, but the short hair makes him actually look like he might be male (which occasionally he doesn't....)
Well if he looked make all the time, where's the fun in that? I mean, if he didn't get called a fairy by the guys on the football team (only to respond "Elf, actually"), where would be the fun?

So I'm drawing a comic for school. It's eating my life. Sorry I'm not updating more. I'm busy getting credit...
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

Possibly in some vaguely traumatic, heart-breaking way that leaves him nearly bald and weepy for a while.

Football boys are awful, in my experience. Maybe not all of them are, but 99% or so.
*huggles the Nate*
